At our normal retirement of 66 years of age, the Social Security Administration projects my monthly payment to be $1650.00, and my wife’s monthly payment to be $817.00. Should I die before my wife, will Social Security entitle my wife to her regular monthly payment and a portion of my former monthly payment. Does some basis exist to compute and calculate how this will work?

We live in Belize, Central America and have a business, which generates less than $60,000. We pay taxes in Belize. Are we required to pay U.S. Social Security every month (or quarterly), or is paying Social Security optional. If it is required, what is the penalty for not paying it timely. Thank you,
